Both are on the same shipwreck. Now when he had left speaking, he said to Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

These are all good things.
JAWS is one of my mother's favourite films, so when she noticed the year, as well as the revisitation of Peter Benchley and Robert Shaw - this was a lock for the evening. The Deep. 123 min Not much more I can add, but this is one of the classics of the golden era of film-making, without the CGI, hyped-up violence, obsessive sexuality and general lack of any kind of emotional depth of current popular cinema. The Deep (1977) ← Back to main.
They will very likely only be available for…, Every feature film on the program at the New Beverly Cinema since Quentin Tarantino took over as programmer.
A diving adventure movie set in Bermuda, written by Peter Benchley, starring Robert Shaw...this was basically a trap that any Jaws fan would find impossible to resist! But the only sea monster they have is. David Sanders Jacqueline Bisset. While there were some exciting scenes, namely the eel, I just found myself not particularly interested in anything going on.
Everything on the brand new Criterion Channel Streaming service. They spend so much underwater time they had a person just for "underwater continuity" and "underwater fashion" they…, Review by UltimateMovieRankings ★★★ 1.

The answer: no, not really. But, like, boring. TMDb Score. [*don't mention the wet tshirt*] From the opening scene, I immediately noticed two things: some fairly impressive underwater photography and John Barry's distinctive style of scoring these kind of sequences.
And there are of course the bonuses of the legendary Robert Shaw, the unforgettable beauty of Jacqueline Bisset, a young Nick Nolte full of promise, a wonderful score by John Barry, and plenty of evocative scenery, both below and above sea level.
Today, such scenes would be (rightfully) admonished as exploitation.
Why I watched this one?
Insgesamt ein guter Taucherfilm mit wenigen Schwächen! Directed by. In Bermuda, two amateur treasure-hunting divers have a run-in with local criminals when they inadvertently discover the secret cargo of a World War II shipwreck. also, seemed like the most realistic depiction of a shark attack??
A pair of young vacationers are involved in a dangerous conflict with treasure hunters when they discover a way into a deadly wreck in Bermuda waters.
The very end was pretty fucking weird though. Synopsis.
This warning was dismissed with a look that suggested my assessment was the objectifying priorities of youth.
*I* almost drowned! The Deep and The Island turned out to be far less successful than Jaws was. What is this one about? IMDb ... Peter Benchley Screenplay, Cast… Romer Treece Nick Nolte. He kept diving while wearing what an accountant would wear to the office in the summer.
Here's the thing - The Deep is known for that outfit.

Menu. With Jacqueline Bisset, Nick Nolte, Dick Anthony Williams, Robert Shaw.
By the time the movie gets to its big Thunderball underwater battle scene....you will be thinking how dumb this movie has gotten.
But it wasn’t bad I guess. Severing a deep sea diver's airline whilst he is on the sea bed does not automatically flood the entire suit with sea water - a valve in the helmet prevents that and had long been invented by the 1970's.
so that was interesting, though not as thrilling as i had anticipated.
Disney Reveals Full 'Mandalorian' Cast, Including Giancarlo Esposito, Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte Joins 'Star Wars' Series 'The Mandalorian'.
Just yuck. (One went so far as to say that when she climbed aboard the boat, you could go home.) Adventure, Mystery, Thriller, Horror.
Thriller, aventura, barcos hundidos, tesoros, voodoo, tiburones, una anguila gigante, Quint, heroína, un cast increíble, divina filmada y escenas submarinas que me CRISPARON los nervios.
The story starts off decent but fades quickly.... the action scenes are very weak.
Based on a Peter Benchley book, and co-starring Robert Shaw as a crusty old seaman, so it's obviously trying to cash in on that Jaws bank.
Directed by Peter Yates. I mean it starts with 8 straight minutes of underwater! Jacqeline Bisset, in her wet…, I have strong memories of the reviews that came out when THE DEEP was released in the mid-1970’s.
Their adventures tap into the explorer in all of us as they investigate the mysterious depths of the ocean – that final unexplored frontier on our own planet. This movie was so cool and very entertaining throughout. Gotta love those ticking clocks. You have two hours to go afterwards.
Why the fuck would you throw that fucking thing? TMDb Directed by Peter Yates. Word gets out immediately and the pair is targeted by a drug kingpin (Louis Gossett Jr.); only…. You know, we might as well be married for all the concern I get around here.
But not everything works as well as I was hoping it would. Still, Peter Yates brings most of it together in the climactic action finale, even if it does literally end on a cheesy freeze frame. After Jaws, Benchley could have gotten his grocery list adapted for the big screen. Vacationing scuba divers discover a sunken treasure off the Bermuda coast along with a stash of narcotics, and soon find themselves on the run from drug traffickers.

Goes on for fucking ever, an unexpected splash of voodoo, didn't distract me from the heat, therefore fucking useless. For me, I didn't mind one bit. i would've immediately gone back home after being threatened tbh; the stakes felt different once they were like 'guess we'll just stick around' even though they literally did not have to.

Just fine.
Robert Shaw is Robert Shaw. Not super terrifying, to be perfectly honest. Sexist, racist, and lacking in compelling stakes.
