God accepted Abel's offering and rejected Cain's—an indication that Abel was more righteous than Cain, and thus worthier of Aclima. But notice how it is worded in Genesis 4:1,2 - she conceived and bore Cain... And again, she bore his brother Abel. The word Cain means “smith.” Tubal was a district in Asia Minor where many of these artificers or metal workers lived and did their creative work. Perhaps Cain had just thrown together his sacrifice, or maybe deliberately offered the stunted and blighted portions of his crops to the Lord. It was believed that the food that the gods loved the best was the blood and suet animals and therefore the blood was drained from the animal and used in many ways. No new provocation appears, but the old feelings, kept down for a time, come in again with a rush, and Cain is swept away by them. he second son of Adam and Eve. They gradually degenerated in their moral and spiritual condition till they became wholly corrupt before God. Cain and Abel are traditional English renderings of the Hebrew names. Some time afterward, Cain and Abel were out in the field when Cain killed Abel. So here again we have good reason to question the historicity of the story. The spiritual level frees one from the negative human ambition of self-seeking and competition. Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.” This passage tells us that Cain’s works were evil before he murdered Abel.
Abel is the first person listed in the Hebrews 11 “hall of faith” chapter. And Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is too great to bear. He will be a fugitive and a wanderer. Abel's offering was of the "firstlings of his flock and of the fat," while Cain's was "of the fruit of the ground." But the Lore assures him this will not happen. Cain means ‘getting’ or ‘producing’ Abel means ’emptiness’ or ‘futility’ God: in this story, God is a manifestation of Order and Harmony. Then comes a pause, in which God speaks remonstrances,—as God's voice—conscience—does now to us all,—between the imagination and the act of evil. So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden. It was the heart choices that these men made within their livelihoods that ultimately mattered to God. The story is an allegory. Offerings and sacrifices were ordained only after the revelation of Tawrat to Musa. Listen! And Cain knew his wife and she conceived and bore Enoch. (Alter 2008:29). It is sin which has rent men apart from men, and made them deny the very idea that they have duties to all men. What did he care for that? Body and soul teaching would be relative teaching, for it is constantly changing. Our Saviour speaks of him as "righteous" ( Matthew 23:35 ). He would rather watch TV than read a book of noble ideas. It takes things into its own hands. Cain's defiant answer teaches us how a man hardens himself against God's voice. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain so that whoever found him would not slay him. It does not mean that God rejects us as human beings. And it does produce. East of Eden would be Persia and that is a long way from Asia Minor. Perhaps Cain had an unrepentant heart, and God may have rejected the sacrifice because of Cain’s defiant attitude. The LORD said, “What have you done? On this account Cain was angry with his brother, and formed the design of putting him to death; a design which he at length found an opportunity of carrying into effect ( Genesis 4:8 Genesis 4:9 . Cain and Abel were in two different industries.
What was this mark? It also meant that there would be farming practices that would poison the land. And if thou doest not well, sin lieth (coucheth) at the door.” (Gen. 4:7) This statement of cause and effect was no comfort to Cain. The Cain in us, the personal ego, searches for a formula to make the soil of consciousness produce some outer condition or get some thing that it thinks will be satisfying. If Cain’s sacrificial offering was supposed to be a blood offering, then in a sadly ironic way, Cain, who did not offer a blood sacrifice to God, has now spilled innocent blood on the ground (vs. 10–11), which condemns him.
