Those of us that are translated into the kingdom of God (Col. 1:13) have many benefits that John the baptist and the disciples did not have before the cross. Since Jesus, the mediator of the new testament, had not yet died, his disciples were still under the law as given to Moses. Which best represents the problem with the comment? It is observable, that though the doxology, as well as the petitions of this prayer, is threefold, and is directed to the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost distinctly, yet is the whole fully applicable both to every person, and to the ever - blessed and undivided trinity.
