4. Shemara Wikramanayake, Macquarie. Andrew Barkla was Australia’s highest-paid CEO last financial year. The Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) revealed the 10 highest paid CEOs in the ASX200 listed companies, with Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce coming out on top. Andrew Barkla – CEO of IDP Education – earned a whopping $37.76 million last year, according to the ACSI CEO Pay in ASX200 Companies report.

3. Just five CEOs cracked the $10 million mark, including Gregory Goodman of Goodman, Paul Perreault of CSL, Michael Clarke of Treasury Wine Estate and Andrew Mackenzie of BHP. Total reported pay: $18,035,835 Change: -4.5 per cent. The 10 CEOs on the list earned more than $10 million dollars, with Joyce earning more than $23 million.
