DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Palantir Technologies Inc. announced today that it will hold an Investor Day on September 9, 2020 at 10:00am EDT / 8:00am MDT. Palantir’s first day of trading was short but eventful, starting at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday in New York with a little over two hours to go before the market closed.

At the crux of the debate is whether direct listings can really drum up the same level of investor sentiment -- and therefore price appreciation -- as a traditional IPO.

Some argue the company could have made more had it done a direct listing, which removes the underwriters from the process and has existing shareholders sell their shares directly to the market.
