This was an excellent set of vignettes set in Paris. The nature of those romances stretch from a mother for a child to a vampire for her (willing) prey, as eighteen directors present short five-, six-, seven-minute films about their appointed district in the Capital of Love, all strung together in a seamless flow.
Great film but my 2nd disc is missing chapters, Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2017.
The English subtitles, furthermore, were, it seems, either inept or flat or both, making the stories seem less interesting, I suppose, than they might have seemed otherwise.
I thought the idea behind the film was good, but something simply didn't click.
The films various directors and stellar cast can't even save this one from being a dud.
Coming Soon. A little uneven in style, tone and quality. Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2019, I absolutely LOVED this movie! Paris Je T'aime has 18 segments in all, and miraculous almost of all of them are at least somewhat good. Don't have an account? |, May 5, 2010

I thought that Paris Je t'aime was an overrated film that really didn't deserve the praise it has received. A wonderful film - it is a vibrant, shimmering love letter to Paris that warms the heart in ways that few films can.
Some I wish would have been longer because of the delightful acting.

Although there are quite a feq famous actors in the film, i honestly think they kinda fall to the sidelines behind some wildly amazing unknown actors!
For directors and actors who usually work on projects that take years to develop and months to film, this must have been a really fun lark. I felt that they could have done a lot more with this film, and it leaves a lot to be desired.
I wish they had used all French actors as the American mini-plots were pretty boring. There were three in particular I really loved, which were "Bastille," "Place des Fêtes," and "14th Arrondissement," directed by Isabel Coixet, Oliver Schmitz, and Alexander Payne respectively. We want to hear what you have to say but need to verify your account. Wha'happened? You're almost there!
The film is mediocre and doesn't satisfy the way it should. Here we get a picture of Paris ranging from the all-too-serious to the lighthearted and comical. 18 separate and beautifully filmed vignettes covering the whole of Paris go together surprisingly seamlessly, and it is something I can dip in and out of as and when I please. Is there a 'play all' button I'm missing? Subtitles are very accurate! | Rating: 4/5, June 6, 2019 The first two of those are very emotional and affecting for stories that only last around eight minutes each, and Alexander Payne's is hilarious in his typical idiosyncratic way but with an undercurrent of sweetness. This is a marvellous collection of short stories that try to fit a great deal into very short timespans. Just below that it reads "Ticket Confirmation#:" followed by a 10-digit number. For one thing, it wasn't exactly the enthralling showcase of Paris that many reviews led me to imagine it was.
Excellent short venues from wonderful directors, Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2019.
