One Man Band is a 2005 Pixar animated short film. At the central square of a picturesque Italian village, a bright-eyed little girl is anxious to toss her last gold coin in the fountain to make a wish, while a talented one-man-band street performer plays a cheerful tune. But just when the girl is ready to drop her coin in the busker's rusty cup, another flamboyant contestant steps in, desirous of her attention. The town is very quiet and the musician is obviously struggling to make money from his vocation. However, this should not be possible, as he never re-attached the snare drum. The girl gets upset and is then angered by the two musicians causing her to lose it, and demands the two one-man-bands for a replacement coin, but they reveal that they are poor and broke. After the credits roll, the two musicians work together in an attempt at reaching the top, where the two coins remain. How did we come to find this theme?
