The Toys seemed to have a lot of quality control issues, and for the money, I think it's worth going the extra mile for the Boy. Depending on how drunk you are, this may be the worst review or the best review you've ever seen. A minor adjustment to the trimpots though and it's just completely stopped working, although according to him there's a slight treble boost with everything on full... so yeah, probably best to go for the Boy or Man. I've not had any quality issues with my Toy, and it's seen a thrice-weekly workout for the last few months. ive checked out the demos on youtube and yes i can hear a difference in the "darkness of the repeats" but to my ears its close enough to warrant saving £100 on.
It sounda phenomenal on YouTube, loads of tweaking options, but �250 is a helluva lot for a pedal... Also it's not analogue, it's a (very nice sounding) DSP Emulation of the sound of a Tape Delay. Some online vendors still have the Memory Toy for $80. Fucking amazing.

My experience was of the Stereo Memory Man With Hazarai which I would've thought had the same Blende control as Toy and Boy, but given the "volume boost" being mentioned here, maybe it's not. I dont need a capo. And for, if budget is an issue you could always check out the behringer time machine.
I like trippy spacey sounds but the pitch bends on the Memory Boy were too extreme to be of any real use for me.

Anyone that has played both will tell you that the sound quality of the Deluxe Memory Man is much more lush and "3-D", which is why people still happily pay the premium for them. I had 2 faulty ones from a bad batch but the third has been fine, I've had no issues. They weren't necessarily bad, but I though the modulation on the Memory Boy was too over the top. I have the other chords in my tonefingers. I didn't like any of them tbh, but they are all decent, as in not terrible. I love analog delay trails and I really don't think you can beat a Disaster Transport Jr. for the money.
I bought a Memory Boy second hand a year ago, after deciding for reason that I desperately needed delay after selling my Echohead.

That's about half the price of the Carbon Copy. Is it Still Worth it To Set Goals With Your Band in 2020. Also the delays on the Memory Boy and Memory Toy didn't quite sound as warm and dark as the Carbon Copy. Posts: 112. It has since gone up to a $100.
I really dig the coloration of EHX's analog delays and prefer them to every other mass-produced analog delay. I don't see any extra features on the CC that make it any more versatile than the Toy, maybe I'm wrong? Incidentally, mine is the V2 Carbon Copy and it's modulation far better and usable that the earlier version.
