Further, this soundtrack retains a spot in my car's CD booklet because of the mix. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2016. Performed by Foxy Brown Courtesy of Violater Records, L.L.C. Metacritic Reviews.
For his part, Jackson does what you expect him to do. Fabulous ears of the director strike again. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness. ORIGINAL MUSIC by Jackie Brown ORIGINAL MUSIC Life's a Party Album Music Morsels Review. It's the soundtrack to a fantastic Quentin Tarantino movie; need I say more? He's obviously got a great knowledge of music and although there are quite a few well known songs on here I like it when he picks a few obscure ones. With Jackie facing jail or being killed by Ordell she strikes a deal with both the police and him to bring in a large stash of money. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. I liked the bongo drums, guitars and flute (good vocals by Pam Grier); 'Detroit 9000' is another 'filler'; ('Holy Matrimony') 'Letter To The Firm' by rapper Foxy Brown is good (I liked the sample by the late singer Isaac Hayes; the song is titled 'Ike's Mood Part 1'); 'Street Life' by singer Randy Crawford is terrible! Tarantino--for all his hype--is a great director because he writes great, realistic characters and he's a terrific storyteller. I've been watching movies since talkies were in their infancy, through all the westerns and detective movies that kids like to "grown up" films, and I believe I've seen most of the best ones. Forster back in the day showed plenty of promise in movies like 'Medium Cool' but quickly found himself stuck in b-grade exploitation movies like 'Vigilante' and 'Alligator'. The music they provide is the perfect vehicle for Jackie's wonderful voice, enhancing her vocals for the most part while flashing their chops in just the right places and doses. Still a great soundtrack though. But Jackie Brown is a film that has it all. by singer Bill Withers is a nice R&B/almost a Blues song with guitars, drums, tambourine and Bill's vocals; 'Tennessee Stud' by singer Johnny Cash is an 'okay' song; good vocals and good guitar playing by Johnny Cash; 'Natural High' by Bloodstone is a nice song and I liked the guitars, drums, strings and vocals by the group (very smooth vocals); 'Long Time Woman' by actress Pam Grier is an 'okay' song and I didn't know Pam Grier is a singer! Jackie Brown is a 44 year old air hostess who also acts as a money carrier for her boss, gun dealer Ordell Robbie. Unable to add item to List. This film has all of these elements. I've never been a big fan of Mr. Tarantino's movies, but when I viewed Jackie Brown I was smitten. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Has Tarantino ever released a bad soundtrack? Robert DeNiro, of whom I am no great fan, here, surely gives his greatest ever performance and even Bridget Fonda is really good, bare feet and wiggly toes and all. As a big Tarantino fan, I tend to appreciate his choice in music in many of his movies....especially in relation to his characters. Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2016. Sample of "Ike's Mood Part 1" (1970) Written by Isaac Hayes ... Taken from the Soundtrack LP "Vampyros Lesbos - The Sexadelic Dance Party" (1996) The bottom line is that this soundtrack is a great introduction to soul and R&B artists from the 1970s.
